Molly came in today to have her 3-year-old pictures taken, and when we found out today is her actual birthday, we had to get pictures posted as a little birthday present to her!

She was a little camera shy but managed to look pretty darn cute even when she was looking warily at the camera.

Her friend Maggie came in with her and had the camera shy bug at first, too, but she warmed up when she started playing with our rocking horse and rocking chair.

Happy birthday, Molly! I hope you have a great day hanging out with Mom!

I normally start these posts with a picture of the family, but the Rump's miniature schnauzers made themselves the focus of the session. Thankfully, I think the other (human) children in the family are used to it.

What other dogs would pose so well in a family picture, with a paw even on Mom's shoulder?

The dogs weren't supposed to be in this one, but they squirreled their way in anyway. They did a decent job, but need to work on their timing a little bit. The one with the red collar didn't turn toward the camera until the other one had moved out of the picture.

Thanks for a great and entertaining session! I hope to see you and your dogs back in the studio soon!

Here's a little bit of catch up from the holiday rush. We wanted everyone who scheduled last minute holiday family photo sessions to get their pictures back before Christmas, so we let the blog posts slide a little. This is Becky and Alyn with their lovely family.

Sister, brother, sister . . .

Blake came in not too long ago for his family pictures (see that session here). It was great to have him back for his senior pictures. He braved the cold with us for some cool outdoor shots and was a great sport about it.

Thanks again for great session, Blake!

Allie came back to the studio to have First Communion portraits taken (see her session with her older sister Sophie here). We did a mix of formal and casual pictures, and I love how they turned out. I hope Allie and her family are just as pleased with them.

It was great to have you back in the studio again, Allie! Thanks for a great session!

Happy New Year everyone! We're getting back into the swing of things after a (brief) holiday break, so we'll start things off easy with a family session post. It cracked me up how expressive the little boy in this family was. The expression in the first picture seemed to be his favorite, but as you can see in the other pictures, he had no shortage of tricks up his sleeve.

Check out this website if you like the baby's crocheted headband.

Thanks for a great session! We hope to see you back in the studio some time!
