Elijah came in to have his picture taken for his first birthday. (See his other Picture Me program pictures here and here.)

The only problem was he was afflicted with a bit of stranger anxiety that day and wasn't nearly as comfortable around the camera or me as he usually is.

He looked something like the picture above (left) during most of the session, although some of that emotion is because he didn't want to wear his birthday hat. He got his revenge on that hat later (above right).

But when it came time for the birthday cake pictures, suddenly I wasn't such a bad guy. I gave him cake, after all, so he started to warm up to me (and by warmed up, I mean he stopped crying every time I came into the room). We got some great pictures out of it. He dug into that cake more than any kid so far.

Happy birthday, Elijah! I'm glad you liked your cake, and I hope you remember that I'm not such a bad guy next time you come into the studio!

Kathy brought her girls in recently for a few family pictures. They had some great smiles, and I had a lot of fun taking pictures of them.

Thanks for a great session! I look forward to working with you again!

Jamie came in for an extra long session (and still a safari session to look forward to next weekend!), so we had some time to play around with different poses and techniques we normally don't have time for. It was a fun session, and we got some great pictures.

Jamie brought in Mr. Beasles (I hope I got the spelling on that right), her Boston Terrier that manages to look stunned no matter what's going on.

She also had her friend Maddie (I hope I got the spelling right on that, too) join us for a few pictures . . .

. . . and then things got weird. I'm kidding, of course. The girl were very entertaining, and we had a fun time with a few goofy pictures. They came up with some good faces. I think they've practiced.

Jamie's a photographer, so we made use of her vintage gear in this shot. I got to glance through her portfolio after the session, and she has some impressive work. I might have some competition from her in the future!

Thanks, Jamie, for a phenomenal session. I look forward to working with you again soon!

Sataya, our senior model from Millard West, came in for her second session recently (Check out a video of her first session here).

She brought her mom with her to take some pictures together.

And her brothers. We took some great family pictures for them.

What do you think of the all black background?

Thanks for a great session, Sataya! You did a wonderful job of posing. Have fun with your last year of high school!

Lindy and Burnett had their wedding at Castle Unicorn, so I got to make my second trip ever out there. It looks like this is going to become a popular wedding venue - they're already pretty well booked for next summer. Hopefully I'll be back for some of those, too! It's a very cool place for pictures, and I was happy to find out Lindy and Burnett's wedding would be there.
Burnett and Lindy sharing a moment during the ceremony.

Burnett holding out the wedding rings. It's fairly subtle in this picture, but Burnett's ring has a very interesting pattern.

Lindy with her girls, . . .

. . . and Burnett with his guys.

Left: Lindy sitting in a throne with a knight in shining armor behind her. Too bad we couldn't put Burnett in one of the suits of armor.
Right: Detail on Lindy's dress.

The wedding favors were these decorative fans, which was perfect because it was a hot one that day. Everyone was sweaty, but these definitely helped some.

Left: I had to post a close-up of this cake because the amount of detail that went into those flowers was incredible.
Right: We took advantage of our settings and did a "prince rescuing his princess from the tower" picture.
Congratulations, Lindy and Burnett! It was an honor to be included as a part of your special day!

Sienna and her parents came in for her one year pictures (see some pictures from her six-month-old session here). We had a fun time in the studio.

She's going to be able to get anything she wants with those eyes.
We had so much fun with the mini birthday cake during Elizabeth's one year session that we decided to try it again. Sienna seemed glad that we did. She enjoyed picking at that frosting.

Happy 1st birthday, Sienna! Congratulations, Kim and Travis!
